Monitoring Open Space Plans

Monitoring goes hand in glove with management activities. When management activities take place, monitoring is important to determine the effectiveness of such activities, and to assist in determining the most effective management practices.

Monitoring can take several forms depending on desired results. Photomonitoring with a camera can be an easy, cost effective monitoring method that will provide qualitative documentation of management efforts. Sometimes this is all that is needed. In other cases, qualitative results are desired or possibly required.  This next section describes schemes for monitoring invasive plant management projects in several different habitat types.
